Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

@Tiffany

I have shoplifting clients who need a waiver, and an offence that is hybrid (meaning it can be indictable) gets a September Letter? Not to mention 3 convictions!

Again, very happy for the client, and I wish I could make this all about my skill, but I told him "your probably going to get a 1 year waiver". This is when I am happy to be wrong.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #432

@J Rogers why doesn’t it make sense?

Tiffany replied 1 year ago   #431

September Letter this one makes NO sense. Happy for the client though.

2017-Assault Causing Bodily Harm
2018-Mischief Under $5000 (2) Fail to Comply with Recognizance

No idea why he got this. He was told by the guy at the border "you don't need a waiver" and i told him...you absolutely need a waiver. I stand corrected.

@SouthernBBQ counting weekend days doesn’t make sense since government officials don’t work on weekends. You make the wait seems so much longer. Lol and you just copied and pasted information most would have already seen.

Tiffany replied 1 year ago   #429

@Shellie

Great question. I DO share rejections, but they aren't as available often. Also they take much longer. Therefore, who cares how long it took, since your not actually going to the US anyways?

If you are over 100 days, they might be CONSIDERING rejecting the file. But again, you still have to patiently wait regardless.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #428

Are these timelines shared just for approvals? If it is denied, does it have a similar timeline?

Anxiety as I'm waiting for mine submitted Aug 1.
Average days 102 between submission and completed for the last 20 reports on here. I dropped the ones where they requested more info as it'd skew the average time.

@Bobchop

On your next waiver, do a better job on the personal letter, and add a drug screen showing no drugs. 15 years ago is more than long enough to get a 5 year waiver on your first attempt. The only exception is if you had a sentence of 3 years or more.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #420

@Bobchop congratulations!! Thanks for sharing.

Tiffany replied 1 year ago   #419

FYI - One year granted for me. First time. 2 drug trafficking charges 15 years ago

@J Rogers no waivers granted these days? Are they into August yet? I’m still waiting for prints. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Tiffany replied 1 year ago   #417

@Guy

If you show up with that, you will not get a waiver. File the waiver through eSAFE. You need to do the ENTIRE application. That means fingerprints, everything

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #416

I need to do my renewal for my waivers , does anybody know if I show up to border with my reference letter and employment letter is good enough or I need more paperwork? Thank you
