Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Client #2 entered the United States illegally in 2010.

Sorry June 14th, not 16th.

Replies (recent first):

May 17th is still my most recent "date" should have more waivers in soon. Had 2 clients get emails but both asked for more documentation.

J Rogers replied 4 months ago   #1280

Unfortunately, the maximum I-192 US Waiver is good for 5 years. Any company promising you a longer Waiver is committing fraud.

@Ludivine Hi, June 12. Thank you for responding.

Manado replied 4 months ago   #1278

@Manado Hoping we get some update. Waiting patiently. Everything was turned in at the port of entry on May 24th. What’s your date?

Ludivine replied 4 months ago   #1277

Does anyone know current waiting time for waivers? Please help!

Manado replied 4 months ago   #1276

@J Rogers Do you know what is the current waiting time for waiver? applied in June.

Careybox replied 4 months ago   #1275

@David79 What are you parroting what the other guy said?

Explain the process for applying for a "10 year b1/b2 visa." which is "a fraction of the cost".

You and Jobsca1 are obviously the same person.

I have no idea why you are suddenly spreading misinformation.

J Rogers replied 4 months ago   #1274

@Jobsca1 Your information is inaccurate. There is no "10 year b1/b2 visa" for Canadian Citizens.

Show me a SINGLE example.

When you file through eSAFE
-its already loaded and paid on the computer
-Homeland Security at the border does little to the file other than fingerprint the client and confirm they came to the border

When you file through paper
-they don't even know you exist until you come to the border
-until the documents are received in Virginia, you have no online file
-someone has to actually MAKE your file electronic at that point.
-Once the waiver then enters the line-up, then they still have to PRINT out a paper copy, then mail it to the client.

This isn't 7-10 days. I have 1 client doing paper. He is a month over. No sign yet, emails say it hasn't been processed.

If your going to "share" information, and you know more than the average DIY, please let us understand how you have this information so we can understand where you are getting this information. Some of your information is completely wrong. No one cares if you "want money" we care that what you are telling people is ACCURATE.

"So when you drop off application, it’s counted from ARO date." This makes no sense, since the file when done on paper has to be converted to electronic format. That is NOT done at the border, but in Virginia.

J Rogers replied 4 months ago   #1273

Mailing time is 7 days for immigration letter from US to Canada. It may take longer in smaller cities.

I would also suggest apply for B1/B2 visa as if that gets approved, no need to get waiver rest of your life. Again as long as you do not have criminal charges… maybe just immigration fraud.

2nd B1/B2 visa is valid upto 10 years & cost friction of the cost.

Disadvantage is currently taking over 1 year to get interview date.

Also no difference between eSafe & paper file. I think paper file is faster as application it taken same day as well as finger prints. No waiting to go to border for separate fingerprints visit.

All you need is single visit.

David79 replied 4 months ago   #1272

@J Rogers

I understand your job is to make money regardless if that path you choose benefits to client.

I would based on experience suggest if you do not have serious criminal record & are on the borderline like misrepresentation etc. You should apply for B1/B2 visa, if they agree you get 10yrs else they tell you need waiver. Which they submit on your behalf.

The time between eSafe & paper filing is 7-10 days max that includes mailing the approval.

Paper filing date starts from the day your submit your application, which could be weeks ahead of eSafe “submitted to ARO”

So when you drop off application, it’s counted from ARO date.

For those if you find error/typo in approval letter, contact them by email ASAP. Normally response time is 2 business days. If they agree, they will update & email you or mail you new approval letter.

…and no I am not immigration consultant etc, just sharing my knowledge. I do not need your money.

What is the current processing time (roughly) for anticipated 5 year renewal ?

Does the timeframe typically slow down or speed up any in the new year ?

Seems like earlier in the year it was 5 months or so but now seems closer to 7

Clb replied 4 months ago   #1270

@J Rogers wow I'm jealous all I have is dui and weed trafficking and I submitted on march 29 2023 and still waiting for response even after I saw zatsman now I'm worried about my application:( I'm def not worse than that guy

1 Year waiver and I-212

Client has an extensive criminal record. This will give you some insight into the timeline when you submit an I-212 as well as a Waiver application.
Its important when being asked to do an I-212 you wait until the client has gone to the border, and then you submit PROOF to the I-192 application. This client never told me he went, so they waited the entire 87 days before processing. Then they realized "oh, he HAS done it" and then gave him the waiver on the same day.

This is false. How could submitting by paper be only 3-4 days?

The mechanism is even different. Please explain how eSAFE is processed and how you think "paper" is processed.

All things being equal, even if they process the waiver the SAME, making it digital takes time because the port of entry has to SHIP the documents and then someone there has to LOAD up the information. Then regular mail from Virginia to Canada AND don't forget, because they RARELY do this, its outside the normal duties of the officers.

You can't take ONE example. Please show us DATA if your sure of this.

Submitting e-safe or Paper file has only 3-4 days difference in getting results.

If there is any mistake in approval letter, email them. Current response time is 1-2 business days.

Asking for update on your application by email? Don’t brother they will never reply, unless it’s over 30 days past due.

I just stumbled upon this fourm. This will be my 3rd wavier (1st wavier - 1 year, 2nd wavier - 5 year / also have a Canadian pardon for a charge over 25 years ago). Used pardons Canada and submitted via ESAFE on May 30, 2023. They cannot provide me any update, just keep saying it's still with the USA. When do you think I will get it?

Rod replied 4 months ago   #1263

@David79 e-safe filing

Chance22343 replied 4 months ago   #1262

@Malik I guess your forgot to switch your username. Loll. You already know the answers to the question you’re asking so why waste peoples time to try and answer a question they would have answered to you almost a year ago. Smh. I remembered you were a little pest then and even after getting your waiver, nothings changed. You asked J Rogers all kinds of questions back then but look at you putting your money in someone else hands.
