Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

J Rogersposted 2 years ago

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Client #2 entered the United States illegally in 2010.

Sorry June 14th, not 16th.

Replies (recent first):

Looked to be median time of 13 months but that was for all waiver types. I was looking at it more as a sign of longer processing times than the actual number because for last year this timeline was listed as 8 months.

Hopefully they’ll pick up the pace between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Src replied 1 year ago   #476

@Src what timeframe did they post please?

Tiffany replied 1 year ago   #475

@J Rogers USCIS just published their times- it appears waiver processing times have increased dramatically compared to last year….

Src replied 1 year ago   #474

5 year waiver - reapplication. I still have many applications form before August 18th so don't panic if you are before this date.

So I asked for an update yesterday by email, and today they emailed in reply to say the below.. J Rogers suggested this simply means the file is pending. ahhhhhhhh lol.

Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is pending results of necessary secondary security checks.

SouthernBBQ replied 1 year ago   #472

@SouthernBBQ you can request before 120 days and they’ll respond to you but won’t ever tell you any detail. You’ll always get the generic boilerplate email saying your application is pending.

KatM replied 1 year ago   #471

In the esafe email I got it said you could request an update after 120 days. So I did today being 121 days. The auto responder sent back an email saying the below... 150 days to receive an response. Don't know which one is accurate, but here's to hoping it's 120 days and I get a positive response soon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every request for application status must contain the date the application was submitted to CBP. You will receive a follow-up e-mail to your inquiry if you provide this information and your application has been on file with CBP for a minimum of 150-days.

If you are an attorney or other recognized representative with a signed Form G-28 on file, you may submit an inquiry to attorneyinquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov. You will receive a follow-up e-mail if your application has been on file with CBP for a minimum of 150-days and you provide the date the application was submitted to CBP.

@toki

Not to my knowledge. I have had clients say that the officer did SAY they would forward recommendations etc, But I don't have any real evidence that this is anything more than talk.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #466

When you get the biometrics done at the border, does the border officer make any recommendations for approval or anything before it being sent to ARO?

8/1/2022 is mine which is 114 days and counting. literally and figuratively. Hopefully arrives soon, kinda worrying as almost all waivers are under that period.

SouthernBBQ replied 1 year ago   #463

@J Rogers I hope so. Your words are encouraging though. I needed that lol.

gabby replied 1 year ago   #462

@gabby

Your result SHOULD be a 5 year waiver. It is old and fairly minor.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #461

@neats47
Of course I will. I'm checking results 20 times a day right now even knowing full well I've got at least 15 days . My crime was from 2001 and was a fraud under charge. It was paid in full before I turned myself in. I honestly thought it had just disappeared as I crossed the border at least 4 times a year every year for the last 20. I was mortified to be turned away (taking my grand daughter to Disney after covid) I just want my life back. I have no idea what to expect.

gabby replied 1 year ago   #460

Here are my last 4 granted waivers. September letter is the 4rth one, the most recent one is at the bottom. The most recent was was granted today.

August 1, August 9, 9, and August 11th.

September Letter

@gabby First time waiver for my husband as well. I will absolutely post it here when we get the results! If you could as well? I’m curious to see timelines. Sometimes it seems they don’t go in chronological order by date the way they should or we would like them too! Trying to be patient…but anxious as well.

neats47 replied 1 year ago   #458

@neats47 keep us posted please. I submitted Aug 22 and I'm also anxious with a family vacation planned for Christmas break. First time waiver for me. Applied on my own.
