Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

J Rogersposted 2 years ago

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

These are my last 5 waivers granted. They were all posted here, but I hope compiling them a bit will help others see the timelines.

5 year waiver. Reapplication. Had a 1 year before. Notable because he has 2 sexually based convictions.
1976- (he was 16) Indecent Assault on a Female
1987- Sexual assault
Served actual jail time and the waiver says "You may be required to register with local law enforcement" but still, a 5 year waiver granted.

Wow! With all those convictions, I hope I get the same kind of miracle. I’m almost halfway through a 10 year bar for unlawful presence and applied in November. Congrats to that person!

@SouthernBBQ ok. Got it. Good luck!

1 year waiver
A bit of a shocker. Told him I didn't think his chances were good. 40% AT BEST.

12 convictions over a span of 13 years, with the last conviction being in 2018 for Assault.
That's only 4 years (5 in February 2023) since the last conviction. I actually told him NOT to apply and to wait.
3 Assault convictions, possession of cocaine, and one of the assaults was "assault with a weapon".
Also a youth record including B and E and possession of narcotics.

A clean drug test was his ONLY proof of rehabilitation. Merry Christmas I guess? LOL
I would like to claim that I am a genius but again, my second waiver I thought was not going to be granted, got granted, this month.

@tiffany no, I did ask for an update since it's been since August 1. And they said pending secondary security checks... My record doesn't show the lesser sentence that was reduced in the Court of appeal.. So maybe could be that. Dunno.

SouthernBBQ replied 1 year ago   #489

@Patientlywaiting416 and @southernBBQ no waiver updates?

@gabby it must be! I probably won’t hear anything until next year. Lol. I applied on October 19th so imagine my worry. Lol

@J Rogers are you seeing any completed applications for August 20th or later yet?

Mine was submitted to ARO on August 20th and getting a bit anxious now...

Fraud over charge from 2009, suspended sentence and 12 months probation (I just turned 18 at that time if that info helps)

T Raptors replied 1 year ago   #479

@Tiffany

You are absolutely correct, but he is referring to a website that takes into account other applications as well. For I-192 applications, what you see here is accurate.

J Rogers replied 1 year ago   #478

@Src really? Timelines posted here shows 3-4 months give or take. I haven’t seen anyone posted their waiver took much longer than that unless they had multiple requests for information and those I won’t consider as normal processing times.

[ Tiffany appended this reply on December 5, 2022 @ 9:45 am ]

And going back to previous post, people were getting waivers in 30 days or less last year this time..
