Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Sorry June 14th, not 16th.

@Random

I am finding 28-35 days is the "normal" time. Of course there are always applications that fall outside that.

Some of the most recent results may be "skewed" by Christmas, but if you look at some of the ones i posted recently, you will see they are generally consistent.

J Rogers replied 2 years ago   #166

@J Rogers I don’t understand why some take 40 days plus and some take 25 days. Does it depend on the officer who is working on that application? I thought it’s same process that they follow to approve.

Random replied 2 years ago   #165

Five recent ones. I am noticing a slight uptick in 1 year waivers, (rather than 5 years) could be a trend, could be a blip, could be a fluke. I am talking about first time applicants only.

@Denis 9981 I think you have done everything possible, you now just have to wait. And yes, I have seen this before. Unfortunately, there is no other recourse. The waiver will come.

J Rogers replied 2 years ago   #163

@J Rogers

I've been posting for a while now on both the status of my I-192 and 1-212 applications. They came back on Nov 22 and requested additional information.

A few weeks back I emailed them to confirm that my additional information was received, and they replied confirming that they did receive my documents and that my application was pending further review.

Having still not received a response since that time, yesterday I emailed them again asking if they could provide a more specific status update.

This morning they replied as follows:
Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is pending results of necessary secondary security checks."

What do you make of this? Have you ever received such a response? Six years ago on this forum somebody posted about this, but there was never any follow through.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, Now that I am done stressing over E-safe again. Here are some file updates. I will not be posting anymore of these, as John has shown in many examples that E-safe is much more efficient then the old paper way.

12/24/21 - application created - changed to signed, changed to paid.
01/05/22 - Submitted to ARO - from Portal, ND POE
01/21/22 - Completed - 5 year waiver (2nd time)

12/22/21 - application created - signed - paid
12/23/21 - submitted to ARO - from Portal, ND POE
01/21/22 - Completed - 5 year waiver (3rd time)

This is actually just 3 clients, the bottom 2 files are the same client, who was asked to do an additional I-212. Its interesting because it shows they keep the applications separate, for example, technically the I-212 was granted separately and THEN the Waiver was granted. The I_212 "decision" is just a one page letter with a box checked off, the waiver "decision" is actually the waiver.

@Michelle
I see it between 30 to 40 days for renewals or straight forward cases

Random replied 2 years ago   #158

Waiver updates from Saskatchewan: Timelines are at 60 days for most of my waivers. Could be the volume of E-safe applications? Just an update. Thanks!

Michelle replied 2 years ago   #157

@dllenzi1 What do you mean you received the same message? Did you email them directly like I did and they responded to you directly via email, or are you talking about the the email confirmation that everyone receives when submit the response? If ARO themselves told you that your additional documents were received, and later told you they weren't, then you have proof that they're full of crap. I would email them a copy of their own email telling you the docs were received and a copy of the letter later stating they weren't. At least it's on record. Then I would hire a US immigration attorney to bring the matter to an immigration judge. Unfortunately, this will all take time.

Denis9981 replied 2 years ago   #156

Hello,

I received the same message from ARO on December confirming that my I-72 response information has been received. However, I got a message last Tuesday saying that I did not respond to them in the 87 days, and they are demanding the payment of $675 to "reopen" the case. I'm very disappointed... has anyone been through the same situation? What did you do? The message says we can't appeal, but I would like to try something else. Do you know if it's possible?

Thank you,
Danielle

This is a waiver that is NOT granted yet. As @Denis9981said above, sometimes the answer can take awhile. He has been waiting since November 22, this lady has been waiting since November 4. I am actually confident she will get a waiver, but nothing yet.

I submitted my request for additional information response on Nov 22 and haven't heard anything back. I was worried that despite the E-Safe system saying that my response was submitted, that they hadn't actually received it.

I wrote to ARO via email 20 minutes ago asking them to confirm if they indeed did receive my additional documents, and this is the response I received (10 minutes later):

Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. Your I-72 response information has been received. It is currently pending further review. Due to the individual circumstances of each waiver application, there is not a set timeframe to give as to when an application decision will be completed.

At least I received a straight response! A little piece of mind.

Denis9981 replied 2 years ago   #152

@Fardesi

It wasn't down for 3 days. It was down for less than a day, obviously. I wasn't trying to log in when everyone was posting that it was down, I logged in before (I assume) and then the next day when the situation was fixed, I logged in again. We had a case of covid, so we are only doing part time days this week and not seeing clients until the covid quarantine is over. Back to normal Monday.

I assure you, I am using the same eSAFE everyone else is.

J Rogers replied 2 years ago   #151

@jRogers how are you pulling status updates on e-safe for 1-10-2022 when e-safe was down for past three days...

Fardesi replied 2 years ago   #150

@J Rogers It's fixed now!

I'm still scratching my head on my applications though. I submitted my response for additional information on Nov 22, and nothing back since. What I provided to them was crystal clear court records that all charges in relation to previous arrest back in 2008 had been dropped. You would think that them requesting additional information would be the last piece prior to a decision. I assume my application will be denied, since my overstay happened just last year, but hell, tell me already!

I wrote to ARO with a concern that perhaps they didn't actually receive my responses, although it says so on E-safe, and they wrote back a generic message as though I was inquiring as to the status of my applications. I was not, I wanted to confirm that they indeed received my response and additional documents that they requested. It's as though they didn't even read my email. I have emailed them twice since with no reply. Maddening.

Denis9981 replied 2 years ago   #149

I logged in for the last time yesterday before 2 I think (EST) and it (eSAFE) was working then. I didn't try to log in after. I am sure it was just timing. I didn't do any files, just logged in to download 2 waivers that were granted. We have a covid case in our office (from the weekend) so we are only doing paperwork and phones, not seeing any actual clients for the rest of this week.

I will be logging in today to do some work, so hopefully its fixed.

J Rogers replied 2 years ago   #148

@J Rogers How were you able to get your e-safe updates today when e-safe has been down since last night for everyone? There has been a databased breach within Salesforce (the platform e-safe is build on) and nobody can access it. Just curious.
