Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Sorry June 14th, not 16th.

@Preet you’ll just get a generic response indicating that files are worked on based on the order they are received

@J Rogers

Since it has been more than 150days since aro submission do you think it is appropriate to email an inquiry to them regarding an update of the case and possibly request an expedited review of the case as our wedding is coming up in July in the US?

Do you think it will be beneficial? Please let me know thanks!

I have seen at one point it was 3 and one month before the 6 months run previously.

@J Rogers so my waiver will likely be approved March 26th for 1 year so I want to renew right away before increase. I have drug charges so as per your recommendation I submitted a clean drug test with my application. Do I need to do a new drug test every time or can I use my old results which are dated July 27, 2023? Thanks.

@Hot Shot no its getting longer it will never get better always longer even when they increase the fee it will stay between 6-12 months

Samson36478589888 replied 1 month ago   #1577

@J Rogers
Which means getting closer to 8 months mark. I thought it will get better for summer months.

Hot Shot replied 1 month ago   #1576

Not a waiver granted. Just a request for an I-212 but as you can see they are up to July 11th clients.

Any updates today J Rogers?

@Preet I wouldn't make any plans until you have that waiver in hand. You may receive a denial because of 'recency of adverse information' and an inability to prove 'reformation of character'. Often, sufficient time needs to lapse to establish reformation of character and a diminished risk relative to you violating the laws of the United States.

@Preet I think the issue is that it was something being taken across border which to the ARO is a lot more serious then a crime that took place inside Canada , a firm will normally tell you that it’s too soon from the crime , but there’s no set time they’re just normally open about your chances

@J rogers

Too soon? Is there a certain amount of time that has to lapse until you can cross again?

We filed through an immigration firm in Canada. We have access to Esafe tho and can see everything through there.

Is there any other possible way to go about it like getting a fiance visa?

Preet replied 1 month ago   #1570

@Preet This could go 2 different ways.

1. They could say "too soon" and deny the waiver.

2. They could accept the excuse and give him a September Letter.

I don't think they will give him a waiver because not enough time has lapsed. This is actually NOT an easy waiver. Did you do this yourself?

J Rogers replied 1 month ago   #1569

@hot shot

In August 2023 he had a very small edible in his backpack while crossing the border. He didn’t know it wasn’t allowed over the border as it is legal in Canada and Washington state as well

That’s it honestly it’s a very simple case no other bars or anything and has a very clean record

What are your thoughts will it be processed quicker?

Preet replied 1 month ago   #1568

@Preet

possible for July if they don't ask for any additional docs. may we know the BAR details with years etc.

hot shot replied 1 month ago   #1567

My partner a Canadian citizen completed and submitted the I-192 by Aro on Oct 5 2023. Are the wait times the same for the 212 form?

We are planning our wedding for this summer do you think he’ll get an approval letter by July?

Is there any other way he could enter the US through a different visa possibly?

Please help I just want to know if I should push the wedding back or what we should do. Thanks!!

Preet replied 1 month ago   #1566

@USA - They wanted to know what I did during my stay in the US.

happyfeet replied 1 month ago   #1565

@happyfeet What kind of extra docs did they ask you to give if you don't mind me asking, im at 8 months too but havent been asked for anything yet

USA replied 1 month ago   #1564

This is a client asked for an I-212 application. He also has to file before April 1st or else the fee for the I-212 will also increase.

@J Rogers , I feel like overstaying is worse than having a criminal record. I was asked to produce extra documents and I have. it's been a month. Is that a good or bad sign? Your reply helps me stay calm. Thank you.
