Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

@J Rogers I emailed you my stuff on 24 September 2024 expecting to hire your services for the next waiver but no response. Can you check your email that I sent with subject "Waiver" and let me know your comments?

cal123 replied 3 months ago   #2077

Both of these are re-applications. The bottom one was still valid until May of 2025 but he wanted to beat the price increase.

@Michelle I haven't had that manifest itself yet, 5 and 1 year only. As for more information, absolutely. Even clients with multiple waivers are being asked.

J Rogers replied 3 months ago   #2075

@John Rogers, I have noticed that some of my renewals - are for 2 years and 3 years, instead of 5 years like I expected. And I have had a few renewals asking for more info also. I think all countries are becoming more security oriented as each year goes by. Wait until Canadians have to start the ETA for Europe travel in 2025. Your thoughts?

Michelle replied 3 months ago   #2074

@J Rogers WOW... sorry for the client but congratulations to the other one ! Looks like new waivers takes about 10 months approx.

I have another client with a Sexual assault. He was given 3 - 1 year waivers.
Today on his re-application, they suddenly started asking for FURTHER documentation INCLUDING privacy act fingerprints and court documents, including police reports and transcripts.

This is just a reminder, when you do your waiver, they DO look at each waiver as a "new" waiver, even if it has been a while. Don't do a half assed job. In the case of this client, I guess he got tired of paying me, (I give a discount for re-applications) and he decided to just take all the "old" stuff and do it himself. He changed NOTHING, which I NEVER do. I change it EVERY time.

Anyways, now he is begging me to help him, and I will, but had he just let me do it again, we probably (we can't know for sure) wouldn't now be stuck.

Your timeline is almost the same as mine, 106-111 days, around 3.5 months. I’ve noticed a trend of 3-4 months for a lot of renewals lately.👍

I thought I would post our timeline, this forum gave me a pretty good idea of when to expect my waiver. Mine was a re-application, second waiver. First one was in 2019 for 5 years. (Took only 40 days first time). Re-applied again via E-safe on May 20, went to the border June 5. Got 2nd 5 year waiver Sep 22. Good luck to everyone, things seem to be speeding up again.

Fifi5 replied 3 months ago   #2066

@The CHI the wait is sooo overwhelming. Been waiting since March 2024 but good news is coming.

Job222628 replied 3 months ago   #2065

@J Rogers As well why some people get a completion must faster after submitting their request for more information response. I submitted my response in July and still waiting whereas this one took less than a week after the response was submitted. I don't get it

The CHI replied 3 months ago   #2063
