@vancity I did mine at surrey truck border on 176 the border guys were rude but then again its their job to be hard on criminals.

I will keep checking the mailbox hoping for a reply with an approval soon.

114 days though damn that's pretty good, and congrats buddy 5 years that's excellent!

@Marie,

No mine was theft over $5000... been hearing about 1st waivers taking roughly 9 months to about 1 year.

As for emailing ARO, wait till 140+ days from the day you applied before sending for a email response, that is on the DHS website.... otherwise it will severely slow your application down, for what reason not sure...but enquires does slow it down.

vancity replied 7 years ago   #321

@vancity , was your waiver for an overstay?

My fiancé applied at Rainbow Bridge January 23, 2016 and we've heard nothing as of yet. This is his first time applying and it was for an overstay. He's tried emailing ARO, but have not heard anything as of yet (6/21/16)

Applied for my waiver Feb. 25th, 2016 @ Aldergrove border in BC and just received my I-i94 waiver in the mail today valid for 5 years dated June 13th 2016, roughly it was 114 days processing ( 16 weeks ) and without any emails being sent about regarding the status... I just waited and waited... and plus it took a week to arrive in the mail.

But now I am good to go, for those folks waiting... you will eventually get it... its just a matter of the waiting game.

@Lewis he got his June 20th and his was done a lil over a week earlier in Feb. 2016 than mine.

@Bo yours should be coming in the mail soon to buddy, we are only 3 days apart from filing.... where did you do yours?

vancity replied 7 years ago   #319

@Lewis I applied Feb. 22 2016 and if you got your waiver I am hoping to be getting mine soon hopefully...but congrats on your 5 year!

Bo replied 7 years ago   #318

@Lewis , aren't you lucky?! Congrats, that's really fast turnaround!

Philly replied 7 years ago   #317

@Lewis , if you don't mind me asking, what was the reason you filed? Was it an overstay, or something else?

Applied fev 17 2016
Approved june 13 2016
This was my first waiver

Lewis replied 7 years ago   #315

Meant to say Jan 2/16 Applied and approved May31/16

First application
was back in 2009 and it took about 5 months then.
I had 3 one year waivers...then one three year waiver and this one I just received was for five years.
Fortunately I have been lucky enough to only have to wait an average of five months.
Last one approved I submitted Jan02/15 and it was approved May31/15.
If you want to avoid the long wait to get your fingerprints back from the RCMP apply for a Pardon.
The wait time is less than two weeks to get them in the mail.
After you get your waiver do like others have said, just duplicate your original waiver and update information where warrented.
Most important piece of advise I can give is when you write your letter explaining your charges DO NOT deflect blame!!!
No matter how you feel express remorse.
If you try to explain that is wasn't your fault etc you will be denied!!
Also start the whole application process at least 6 months before your waiver expires.
I have always done my waiver applications at Pearson Airport in Toronto.
Every time I've gone to reapply I can't believe the amount that of people that have used waiver service companies that don't even tell their clients that you have to reapply least 6 months before expiry.
Remember these service companies can only guide you in filling out the required documents.
They cannot go and deliver the paperwork.
You have to go and be fingerprinted ,photographed and have Customs review your paperwork. Then you pay the 565.00 USA and wait for a reply.
Last thing in order to have a chance at a aquiring a waiver your charges have to be minimum five years old that includes completed probation.

I can't believe the bashing going on in this forum since these guy's are on here pushing the fantasy September letter.
Do your research do the waiver yourself it's easy.

Second application brought on december 29th, 2015, received for 5 years on may 16th 2016

Fabio replied 7 years ago   #312

@DALE How long for the first application?

lewis12 replied 7 years ago   #311

@PH1- I'm also currently waiting on a waiver for an overstay and I've received the same message. I submitted back in November 2015. This is my first waiver submission so i know it takes the longest. I have no criminal background record so idk how that factors into it. I'm just staying optimistic.

africanjedi replied 7 years ago   #310

anyone received waiver for overstay in US? Waiting for 11 month, no news.
"Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is currently pending further review."- all what they say to me by email.

PH1 replied 7 years ago   #309

Received Five year waiver today June 7/16
Applied Pearson Airport Jan 02/16
Approved May 31/16
This was my fifth renewal.
With exception of my very first waiver...I have done the last 4 myself.
Because I have a Canadian pardon my wait time for fingerprints has always been in the one to two weeks time frame.

Good luck to everyone

Dale replied 7 years ago   #308

Well they already issue permanent clearances now in some cases. This is what we specialise in. I haven't heard what you say you have heard yet.

Scotty B replied 7 years ago   #307

I understand they are working on having permanent I-194, which would be great.

Banded replied 7 years ago   #306

@Tim congrats on the 5 year waiver...I did mine in February of this year looks like it's running around 6 months to get a waiver which isn't bad...I'm hoping by end of July for mine.

Bo replied 7 years ago   #305

Just got my second waiver approved, in the mailbox today. Valid for five years this time. Submitted January 8th, 2016! Did the application myself, after using a third party company for the first one (approx. $700). I pretty much just copied most of the documents from my first one (letters, etc), just with updated dates, signatures and a little more info on my personal letter explaining my circumstances (i.e the travelling I was able to do with my first waiver, and would like to continue to do so).

Sooner than I expected, for sure!

Good luck everyone!

Received an email response that a decision was mailed on April 25th. It has been over a month now and nothing has come in the mail. Does anyone have any idea how to follow up on this? Sent an email but didn't get a response.
