Got your I-194?
Reply here with how long it took. Months, weeks, days...
First application was May 14, 2014 and received the one year waiver on July 28th. I have since followed up on the renewal application send November 3, 2015 with and email and received a response that a decision was mailed on April 25, 2016. Still have not received anything in the mail.
It happens. I've missed spring break twice in the last five years because I didn't get my paperwork on time. Only America and Canada have this policy of not letting people in with records. Might be time for me to start thinking about other destinations. Thank God I don't have to go there for my job anymore or I'd be constantly stressed out.
My husband applied for his first waiver for a charge 33 years ago of possession of stolen property over $250. The waiver was processed in 2.5 months. No reference letters were attached with the application. Sent in his renewal at Vancouver Airport on November 3rd including the 3 reference letters and still haven't received. So I would say that renewals are not faster than first applications and they are not processed in the order they are received. We had to take a Spring Break vacation to Hawaii without him!
Just got in from watching the Toronto Raptors game 6 at a friends place. Checked my mail and the response letter came. Granted 5 years on my 1st try!!! I am still in shock. God is good. Renewed hope to all that are waiting or applying. Submitted Dec.19th and response done May 9th. I did submit 3 reference letters. I also did a personal letter expressing remorse, description of my offence and ties to the U.S. I used Pardons Canada for this. I would say it was worth my $835.00 I paid them plus the $585 U.S. CBP
I had a theft under charge from 1997. I was stopped at the border in 2008. They let me go to the wedding in the U.S. but told me I need a waiver the next time. I need to travel frequently now as one of my kids will be at a U.S. school playing a sport and studying in 2016 September. Still anxious though and waiting for the mailed response. Hoping it's not for more info or a decline!! It is a quick turnaround for sure based on this site. I will update as soon as I get the mail..hopefully by next week.
@Nerak wow 5 months and they already mailed you a response? May I ask why you had to petition? Mine was an overstay no criminal history and I submitted also at Pearson back in November 2015. My first inquiry said it was going thru security checks and that was 2 months ago...Im praying for good news.
I submitted mine on March 31/2015 and am still waiting. This is my 16th renewal I believe. My conviction was 1987 and first waiver was 1994 and I've never had a brush with the law or overstayed in US since. I agree with you that we probably would have been denied by now, but who knows why it takes 13++ months so far to approve me when they've approved me so many times before. We are completely at their mercy and sending inquiries is a waste of time. It will show up sooner or later. I can`t help but think something is wrong on my file so I`m kind of getting mentally prepared for a denial. Then it`s Turks and Caicos instead of Florida.
Submitted Dec.19/15 at Pearson Toronto airport.
Emailed 1st request yesterday because it was over 120 days that I applied. However, it now appears you have to wait 150 days to inquire!!!!
GOT THIS back this:------>>>>
This email address is for questions regarding the status of applications on file with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Admissibility Review Office (ARO). The ARO is responsible for the following applications: Form I-192, Application for Advance Permission to Enter as Nonimmigrant, Form I-212, Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the United States After Deportation or Removal, and Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition. Please note the ARO will respond to inquiries on the latter form only in those instances where the action is related to obtaining a duplicate approval notice for a Form I-192 or I-212.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Every request for application status must contain the date the application was submitted to CBP. You will receive a follow-up e-mail to your inquiry if you provide this information and your application has been on file with CBP for a minimum of 150-days.
Made email query yesterday. I had submitted waiver app on Dec. 19/15 at Pearson.
Just this minute got email update stating below:
On 5/9/16, a decision was mailed to the address of record provided on your application.
Do not reply to this message; submit all your inquiries to ARO.INQUIRY.WAIVER@cbp.dhs.gov
Thank you,
Admissibility Review Office
Hoping the decision is a favourable one!!! That is less than 5 months?!?!
@G : I submitted my application on August 9th. Still nothing yet. I guess (or hope) the silver lining is that it will ultimately be approved and not denied. My thought is that a denial would be decided quickly. Then again the ARO is not very consistent or transparent....
@africanjedi I have received approval on April 20 , filed on 20 oct so u should be receiving very soon. No problem in sending status inquiry again. Or every month.
Has anyone received a response that processed their paperwork in November of 2015? Also if I emailed back in March and they said it was going thru security checks, is it wise to email again this month?
