Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Hey is anyone receiving any decisions at this point so close to Christmas or do you think we are all waiting until new year now?

@bob194

Yes I have noticed it really varies. Some clients, no fingerprints at all. Others, fingerprints, and sometimes even DNA. Remember, Homeland Security PAYS the FB! just over $11 for each set of fingerprints. So maybe this is a way on saving money on applications where it isn't needed. Just guessing.

J Rogers replied 3 years ago   #138

@J Rogers Looks like they are not even taking finger prints if applying for waiver renewal . may be they only take finger prints if applying first time or never applied at border earlier.

bob194 replied 3 years ago   #137

@bob194 only original was the RCMP finger print... everyting else was copies of copies (court documents/prior waivers)

Fardesi replied 3 years ago   #136

The purpose of the trip to the border is to:

-get fingerprinted
-show documents
-sometimes they do DNA

There is no need to take the actual forms, (I-192) but YOU MUST have the original document from the RCMP. The rest can be photocopies of the documents you uploaded.

J Rogers replied 3 years ago   #135

@J Rogers
Can you please give your suggestion ?
Do we need to show all originals ? I got reference letter in email which I uploaded, do not have original hard copy with me.

This client almost missed the notifications and only had 10 days left to download. Luckily we go through them and make sure no one misses the waiver!
5 year waiver.

Went to lewistonbridge for bio metrics. It was breeze. In and out in 20 minutes. They didn't take any prints as were already in system. Gave me paper and came back the wait at canadian side was more like 40 minutes.

Fardesi replied 3 years ago   #131

@J Rogers Thanks a lot.. Just submitted now. Can we just walk in over the weekend to give bio metrics? The website didn't asked me to take appointment.

I see this message after i submitted application.
You have 45 calendar days to report to an e-SAFE designated port of entry to complete the biometrics requirement of your application or the application will be considered abandoned and denied

bob194 replied 3 years ago   #130

@bob194

Call 716-843-8521 for ANY Buffalo bridge.

Remember, they don't "have your file", its forwarded to Virginia. They make all the decisions, the people who fingerprint you have no say.

I have clients that go to all 3, and everyone who goes to Niagara Falls tend to have the easiest time, less complaints.

J Rogers replied 3 years ago   #129

@J Rogers :Thank you, I haven't submitted it yet so I still can change it to Niagara Falls ,Rainbow bridge, What number should I call to take appointment at Niagara falls or Can I just walk in and give bio metrics?

I applied my last waiver from Peace bridge buffalo that's the reason why I thought of going to Peace bridge as they have my old file already .

bob194 replied 3 years ago   #128

@bob194

You make an appointment by phone. Call 716-843-8521. I assume you put the port of entry as Peace Bridge which is why you are asking about that port. So you MUST go there.

For anyone else using the "Buffalo" port of entries, do yourself a favor. Use Niagara Falls, Rainbow Bridge. Less busy, no waiting, and i would argue, even easier to find. Not to mention, they do not allow trucks, therefore you automatically have a reason for it to be less busy. Very friendly as well.

J Rogers replied 3 years ago   #127

Should we take appointment with POE office to give biometrics at peace bridge or can we just walk in any day after paying fees and submitting the esafe application?
( It says you have 45 days to report to a designated e-SAFE port of entry to complete the biometrics portion of the application.)

Should we we also take covid test before going to POE for fully vaccinated people?

bob194 replied 3 years ago   #126

@J Rogers

I only ask because the DNA sample is such a controversial measure and I’m curious if there’s a pattern of BIPOC folks getting singled out for it.
Knowing how America works and their treatment of non-white folks this is a very real possibility as that group of folks is often targeted and criminalized.

Here are four waivers that came in this week, just to give general timelines. Note the one asked for further information (a panel doctor) so it took much longer than the others. Still pretty fast though, and I assume it will stay fast for the foreseeable future. eSAFE is incredibly efficient.

@Magnus

Not everyone. And not everyone is getting fingerprinted. I only have a handful at the BC border, and nothing out in the Prairies (Michelle can comment on that) but at Niagara Falls its really varied. Every time I think there is a pattern, it changes.

J Rogers replied 3 years ago   #123

Are you still seeing the collection of DNA samples when doing biometrics when at the border?

Magnus replied 3 years ago   #122

Interesting case. He had the following record;
2002 Conspiracy to Commit Fraud
2002 Fraud Over $5000
2002 Breach
2015 Driving While Ability Impaired

They sent him to a panel doctor. VERY unusual. Today he got a waiver, 5 years.
The letter they had sent said "based on your alcohol related driving conviction, you may be inadmissible under 212 (a)(1)(A)(iii) of the INA. Then in short "may result in a person having a class A medical condition...."

Anyways, as always trying to keep all of you updated on anything out of the ordinary, as well as the ordinary. I would have NEVER guessed he would be sent to a panel doctor, and once he was, I was pleasantly surprised he got 5 years. First time waiver, he is a truck driver.

@Denis9981 the result is almost always simply a waiver.
