Handing in Waivers -Quarantine and timelines - Post here

J Rogersposted 2 years ago

Post real application stories here. Not "A guy told me" or "a few of my clients" but specific client experiences so others can see accurately what is happening.

There are rare exceptions, but whether you file a waiver, or a waiver AND an I-212 you simply get a waiver in return. That's why I tell clients to wait. Its an extra $930USD for the exact same waiver.

Sorry, that was meant for the response below

Sorry June 14th, not 16th.

@J Rogers - I've responded to ARO request for more information in Feb. It is now March. Should I be worried?

any July 15th applicants with good news?

hot shot replied 1 month ago   #1596

I have seen some timelines where clients have waited exactly one year to get the waiver but I'm just curious if u have seen it go past a year and also get the waiver and if so how much more past a year?

Samson36478589888 replied 1 month ago   #1595

@J Rogers what is the longest u have ever seen a client wait and get granted a waiver ?

Samson36478589888 replied 1 month ago   #1594

@linds99 There are Humanitarian Port Paroles. But you need to consult with someone who actually DOES these. Why? Well, these are not easy to get, and look at the website....its not there to help you at all. Its like defending yourself in court using a "book on law". Technically correct, but not practical.

It also depends on where you live. The waiver is granted in Virginia. But the Port Parole is granted by the PORT. Much different.

Does anyone know if you can get one-time permission to enter while waiting for a response? Does it depend on the severity of the crime? Or the reason for travel?

I applied August 23 for my first waiver and I'm really worried I won't get it in time (or that I did it wrong and it will be delayed or denied). I really need to travel for a week at the end of April. What are my chances?

linds99 replied 1 month ago   #1591

@J Rogers yes my fingerprints will still be valid. So you don’t think it’s necessary to do a drug test every time? Obviously after a 3 or 5 year waiver I would redo it if needed but after only 1 year seems like a lot.

@J Rogers

Thank you so much I will give you a call around then if nothing comes back

Preet replied 1 month ago   #1589

@HotShot Yes it was e-safe and I would add this is my 3rd 5-year waiver

E-safe right?

Hot Shot replied 1 month ago   #1586

FYI... I submitted application for waiver at Pembina on July 11, 2023 and received it March 7, 2024 @8:02 a.m.m

Thank-you for creating this forum.

@Preet

When it gets closer to the wedding date (about a month) call me and depending on your location I will give you some advice on how to try "unofficially".

@Surreygirl

If you are going to attempt it make sure you have valid fingerprints. Quickly apply and PAY before April 1.

J Rogers replied 1 month ago   #1584

@Hot Shot just because u seen it doesn't mean timelines are going down I know it sucks but the reality is timelines are not coming down to manny ppl are applying for waivers especially since every one hates trudaeu and cost of living went up

Samson36478589888 replied 1 month ago   #1583

@Preet Unfortunately, ARO does not care about your wedding date and will not expedite your case. There is no scenario where they allow your file to jump the queue. Waiting on their timeline is the only thing you can do.

If you email them, you'll receive a generic response similar to this:

Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is currently pending further review.

Do not reply to this message; submit all your inquiries to AROinquirywaiver@cbp.dhs.gov.

Thank you,
Admissibility Review Office

SteelMans replied 1 month ago   #1582

@Preet you’ll just get a generic response indicating that files are worked on based on the order they are received

Beex replied 1 month ago   #1581

@J Rogers

Since it has been more than 150days since aro submission do you think it is appropriate to email an inquiry to them regarding an update of the case and possibly request an expedited review of the case as our wedding is coming up in July in the US?

Do you think it will be beneficial? Please let me know thanks!

Preet

[ Hot Shot appended this reply on March 6, 2024 @ 6:39 pm ]

I have seen at one point it was 3 and one month before the 6 months run previously.

Hot Shot replied 1 month ago   #1579

@J Rogers so my waiver will likely be approved March 26th for 1 year so I want to renew right away before increase. I have drug charges so as per your recommendation I submitted a clean drug test with my application. Do I need to do a new drug test every time or can I use my old results which are dated July 27, 2023? Thanks.
