@G What month and date did you file your waiver?

Africanjedi replied 8 years ago   #280

I have received my waiver yesterday exactly after 6 months .. So waiting time for waiver is around 6 months ..

G replied 8 years ago   #279

@Lewis: I am still waiting on my waiver, however, the attorney I used recommended waiting at least 5 years from the date of the offense not conviction. There are also other factors including whether or not you have a ban (5 years. 10 years etc.) I hope that helps!

Hello i have a question for those who have obtained waiver. What type of record has been used against you and how long you waited before send your request after conviction?

Lewis replied 8 years ago   #277

Best way is to doing new fingerprint for renewal..coz renewal takes longer time and by that time your old fingerprints will be more then 15 months old & possibility they might ask new one . Your file will be delayed for results.

G replied 8 years ago   #276

Fingerprints can be reused for renewal if they are under 15 months old. Does that go by the date they are filed at the Port of Entry or by the date Homeland gets to our file

Thanks .. & congrats.. Lucky.. Hope all get same treatment..

G replied 8 years ago   #274

I applied October 27 . Queenston bridge is where I applied . It was super fast . And a shocker that I got 5 years . Offence happend in 2008

Jones replied 8 years ago   #273

^ I thought the fingerprints go by the date you file the 1-192. Not the date they get to your file.

Sandra replied 8 years ago   #272

Got this one today.

Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is currently pending further review.

After 13 months one wonders what they could possibly be further reviewing. My fingerprints will go stale in 2 months while it sits on someones desk.

Hope they don`t tell me to start over again at that time. They really hate doing your paperwork at the border when your waiver is expired. It means they have to do a full denial of entry. I did that once and brother was the guy pissed.

@ Jones - That's amazing. Speedy! Congrats. Where did you apply?

Philly replied 8 years ago   #270

@Jones .. first time waiver and for 5 years... WoW! ..congrats!!

Bo replied 8 years ago   #269

Which date of October you applied?

G replied 8 years ago   #268

I applied for my I-192 in October and received my decision today . I got approved for 5 years on first waiver

Jones replied 8 years ago   #267

@Figman - There is no official time to wait from the end of sentence that anyone has ever provided. It is frustrating and maybe they should have one, but its kind of purely opinions of how long you "Should" wait. I have hired an immigration lawyer as I am purely wanting into the states for a specific school that will hold me up with career stuff. All I can do is hope for the best. As for a heads up to everyone else. They do provide an appeal package with a denial letter.

ChrisD replied 8 years ago   #266

@ChrisD it has always been my understanding that you need to wait at least 5 years from the END of your sentence. That means 5 years after probation is served. As for the statement just rewrite it when the time comes and just be remorseful. Remember you are trying to convince them to let you in. As for a dispute mechanism I don't know of one. You may want to consult a lawyer who specializes in these at least once then just duplicate the package every time you renew.

Figman replied 8 years ago   #265

Well... I finally received my decision in the mail today. It took almost a month for mailing. I was denied... Due to how recent it was (2012 crime) they also said due to the fact that my personal statement had a level of detachment that prompts a reasonable person to suppose a lack of appreciation for the scope of your crimes.

Anyone have any experience with the dispute process?

ChrisD replied 8 years ago   #264

@ChrisD - Thanks for the info. This whole process is not very transparent....probably by design. Just sent a request. I hope a get a decision mailed response!
