Hey guys so it has been 3 months since submittting my waiver , the review office mailed me saying that they would like me to redo my prints , I called us customs and they told me it is probably because they were not readable. Has anyone been in my situation ? If u have how long after did u wait to hear something after redoing the prints?

And it arrived :)

159 days, and 5-year expiry. Thankful for that because the next one will be north of $1200 CDN...

The best news I heard all year! Now I can start working in a week or so :)

FYI we are about the 153 day mark on this one.

Good morning,

I send an email every couple of months to ARO.INQUIRY.WAIVER@cbp.dhs.gov and every time I get the same B.S. response "Your application was received and is being processed. Due to the individual circumstances of each waiver application, there is not a set timeframe to give as to when an application decision will be completed"

Does anyone believe it takes 1 and half years to decide on something they've already granted me 15 times? I've been getting waivers since '94. One year at first then 5 years, then last time back to one year. Longest it ever took before was 7 months.

I think some wiseass in DHS didn't like my file and decided to"unofficially" shit-can it. I figure my days going to the US are over. My only option now would be get a lawyer who specializes in Waivers and get him to pull some strings to find out what is going on. That will probably cost me a couple thousand. I'll bet you they will then say I've got apply all over again,except I can't legally reapply because I'd have to "enter" the US to submit my new application which would mean I would have to be denied entry on paper which really pisses them off. I always submit at Queenston/Lewiston.

Does anyone have recent experience at Pearson airport who could share what that process is?

So happy! Received waiver number 2 in the mail today, 5 years! Filled out renewal on my own and applied June 22 at the border, less than 15 weeks.

Appletree replied 7 years ago   #397

I've been waiting over 22 months... with still nothing.

Keep getting the same reply;
Your application is on file with the Admissibility Review Office. It is currently pending further review. Do not reply to this message; submit all your inquiries to Inquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov

Thank you,
Admissibility Review Office

I've even sent them specific letters, stating that I am concerned that they may have misplaced my file, but all I ever get back is the same response.

Just have to be patient, and hope for a positive outcome...

Figman-What response do you get when you contact ARO? How many waivers have you had in the past?

Zach replied 7 years ago   #395

Been waiting 17 1/2 months for waiver..... still nothing

Charges of moral turpitude go back 21 years involving girlfriend. Sentenced to 9 months and haven't been in trouble since. Currently married for 14 yrs with 2 kids. First waiver was in 2004 for 5 years. Second waiver in 2009 for 5 years. Third waiver was in 2014 for just one year. I am now waiting 11 months for my 4th waiver. I emailed ARO after the 4th month, 8th month and a week ago. The first 2 email replies were that it was going through certain security checks. The last one was slightly different and said it was being processed. Anyone else going through this. Is there a chance I get denied on my 4th waiver? Promised the kids a trip to FLA and it's keeping me up at night.

Applied for a renewal June 22nd at the border crossing and was told by the officer they were taking 4-6 weeks to process. Being an idiot we booked a trip to Vegas the end of October. Now I am reading all these processing reports and am freaking out a bit. October 12 will be 4 months. Wondering if I should wait or rebook now? Any suggestions?

Appletree replied 7 years ago   #391

My second waiver arrived last week, just under 4 months after I submitted the application. Valid for 5 years.

Brenda replied 7 years ago   #390

@Molly - yes you will go through the U.S. entry process in Toronto on your stopover.

@Gary - I'm not at the 150 days to request a status update by e-mail yet. Hopefully I will receive the waiver before 150 days has passed.

Brenda replied 7 years ago   #389

Wahoo @thehobit @bdawg!!!

Quick question...my flight to Florida has a layover in Toronto I don't need to show anything in Canada right? Just when I leave Toronto go in the visa line and always show my papers first before passport?

Molly replied 7 years ago   #388

2nd waiver arrived today. Valid for 5 years. Just over 5 months from date of submission.

Good luck to all.

Gary replied 7 years ago   #387

@Frank Jr.

I emailed and received an email that a decision has been made and has been mailed to me! Very excited.

@Brenda

You have to email the ARO if you would like to receive a status update. Please see the Frank Jr. Post above.

I'll provide an update when I receive the decision in the mail.

@Gary: You are now beyond the 150 days that the ARO recommends that you wait before submitting an inquiry. I would go ahead and email them now, to check on your status.

inquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov

Make sure to include your full name as it appears on the application, your date of birth, your 'A Number' (if you have one already), the port of entry or pre-clearance where you filed your application and the date that you filed the application.
