As for the timeline......when the fees went up the backlog slowed these applications down. That backlog is GONE. They could get every application they have done by Thanksgiving if they want. They do NOT want then done quickly. If this seems like "why would they do that?" then you aren't paying attention. Notice Canada has tariffs for made up reasons, and we have been threatened by Annexation. Notice Russia has not a SINGLE TARIFF. Notice Trump met with Putin in Alaska and got embarrassed. And STILL his "friends" have tariffs and the Russians.....nothing.

Literally any day now. No need to panic, this is to be expected. Ignore what they say at the border, the waiver comes from Sterling Virginia, not where you handed it in. If you read the Forum you know more info than anyone at the border. All their information in anecdotal. Any day now.
@J Rogers I am a first time applicant of a U.S waiver I applied at the lynden border crossing on Feb 11 2025 for a simple possession marijuana charge from 2008 I was pardoned in 2020 applied for waiver havnt heard a single thing the border guy did tell me 12 months tho when I handed him the papers when I email them just angelic response not saying much I’ve got 0 info from all ends gettin ridiculous at this point WHEN WOULD I HEAR???? Anything…

Anyone who has a waiver where they went to the border in January or February BEFORE this client, do not panic. I am sure you will hear soon. This is my first February 2025 client to get a waiver, but I have a couple of Januarys and Februarys before this one still pending.
@Big Joe Literally any day now, unless it has issues, or is being forwarded to a supervisor for review.
Remember, yes, you SHOULD hear any day now, but there are always exceptions. The great thing about eSAFE is that there is no guesswork, or anything lost in the mail. Its either updated, or its not.
I tend to post during the week when I am at work, so please be patient. And there is no need to get upset at each other, some long time board watchers know how I post, so it looks like they were just trying to help until I came back on.
70% of my business is waivers, and I have been doing them a long time, so most of these are mine. I can also gather data from the application numbers, and I have collogues who also share information, so sometimes I post interesting cases that are not mine, although I usually mention if it isn't. I have pages and pages of data, how else can I help my clients if I don't KNOW the data, and posting it helps people who might only have their own application on the go.

Both like you, first time applications. Look at the line that says "submitted to ARO". January 30 and January 14th. You are Feb 8. You are VERY close.
If your application is normal, it could be today, it could be January 5, it could be December 24. You are right there. Soon.
I applied Feb 8 2025 I’ve heard absolutely nothing it’s my first ones I don’t understand what’s going on no updates what’s so ever I’m hoping to get it anyday now but I have no idea @pweservices
Cautionary tale
New client, applied a long time ago, they asked for Privacy Act because she has a pardon. She lives in Toronto, didn't want to come to Brampton to do the fingerprints. Took her time and then the place she went to did the SAME prints as last time. She went back but new prints did not arrive in time. So we still submitted her pardon, a copy of the ORIGIONAL prints we did for her Pardon, court docs. So in other words, everything EXCEPT the Privacy Act, but we also provided the exact same information.
They simply said "you didn't reply with enough info" and sent her the form letter they send in that case.
When the Privacy Act fingerprints arrive, she wants to appeal, which costs $800USD. (Its actually to "reopen" the file)
The shame of this is one mistake by a fingerprint company (I am sure it was a miscommunication) is going to cost her $800USD.
This Homeland Security is not giving anyone any leeway. So be careful and anticipate everything before you start.

These 2 waiver show the priorities of this Homeland Security. Case #1, long overstay. They don't trust her for more than a year yet.
Case #2 is guns. They simply don;t consider this a crime of Moral Turpitude. Also both clients are women.

Submitted to ARO is the line that is important.
So when you go to the border, that is the "date" we are talking about when we say "timeline".
So right now, the people who went to the border in Early February 2025 should expect a waiver any day now. First time applicants only.
For re-applications, its around 90 days, sometimes shorter.
