Waivers in BC - NON-Essential

J Rogersposted 2 years ago

I am about to file 2 waivers in BC with another coming. Can anyone who has filed waivers there give me some experiences, who you call etc?

Obviously these will be done with eSAFE, but how do you make the appointment (if needed) and which border crossing/location are the fingerprints done?

Replies (recent first):

As per a previous inquiry… what POEs are accepting eSAFE? What locations across Canada and do you anticipate any new POEs accepting waivers in the near future?

So again, anyone go to the Peace Arch? My client is anxious to go, and although I will confirm with Homeland Security, I want to be 100% sure.

@Michelle I thought there was a big announcement here that one BC location was taking them. I was just wondering if anyone here had tried it. I think before I pay the $585 I will make sure they are indeed taking it.

I have 2 brothers here in Ontario who did not make the 45 days after I had paid. It was 10 days as of yesterday since the 45 days had passed, but the file was still open on eSAFE. I called and they were given an extension until October 8. They are going on September 22. But just a heads up, it looks like they are informally extending that deadline. Once they close the file it will say "abandoned" on eSAFE.

@John, according to the listing on E-safe there are 5 locations, but not sure if they are actually doing it. Can you client call them to see? It could change from day to day or from Custom Officer.

@Magnus

Yes, and I was hoping for someone who actually DID it, so I can get insight by someone who handed their waiver in in BC
