Hi all, my waiver is ending in August 22, after 5 years, when should i apply fir a new one? Should i wait for it to expire? Or apply in advance? Thanks!

There is no "penalty" or downside to letting your waiver expire and then applying. I know certain companies like to pretend you must keep the waiver current, but I have seen no evidence they are treated differently.

My advice to clients is always the same. If your not going to use it anyways, there is no benefit in having a valid waiver. Two exceptions could be the rising/falling Canadian US dollar (might cost more to wait or vice versa) or an emergency.

In the past, I would apply for a new waiver before my current one expires. With no urgency to travel to the or through the U.S., I am considering applying later, sometime after my current one expires.

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

My 6th waiver expires in early 2022. The last 2 have been 5-year waivers.

I would start it in March or April 2022. They are very fast right now, but keep checking the timelines.
