As for the timeline......when the fees went up the backlog slowed these applications down. That backlog is GONE. They could get every application they have done by Thanksgiving if they want. They do NOT want then done quickly. If this seems like "why would they do that?" then you aren't paying attention. Notice Canada has tariffs for made up reasons, and we have been threatened by Annexation. Notice Russia has not a SINGLE TARIFF. Notice Trump met with Putin in Alaska and got embarrassed. And STILL his "friends" have tariffs and the Russians.....nothing.

12 months to the day, almost to the HOUR.
He crossed the border from Mexico into the US for asylum (Sri Lanken) stayed for 18 days, and then came to Canada.
This would have been a CLEAR September Letter before Trump. My first one since Trump.
A September Letter is a letter saying "we have decided you do not need a waiver". Its the best possible outcome.
Got a second 1 year today. Hoped for 5 year so I wouldn't have to do this process again but all good.

2001 Conditional Discharge. Obstruction.
This lady was homeless and living in her car with 2 kids waiting for a shelter bed. A police officer questioned her and she gave a fake name. She was afraid that the CAS might take her kids.
Now, she not only works with a "Charitable organization" as a family counsellor, so helping those that were LIKE her not struggle, but she brought in a STACK of letters from organizations she works foes volunteer work for.
Think about this. She has the "crime" of not wanting to lose her kids. Great job by the cop by the way, We certainly pay cops so much so they can HARRASS single moms in cars, we wouldn't want to distract them from giving out jaywalking tickets.
And the Homeland Security officer that decided this woman could only have 1 year? Maybe they were directed to do this, but this makes me VERY angry.
-minor offence, GREAT explanation, mitigating circumstances
-rehabilitation that is unparalleled.
-She literally HELPS people avoid what happened to HER as a JOB and her volunteer work is ALSO to help people AVOID being homeless with kids.
On top of this, the US is DEPORTING the interpreters and people that HELPED them during the war....back to the waiting arms of the Taliban, who THEY HELPED THE US FIGHT.
I like Americans, but Republicans are absolutely the WORST human beings on the Planet.

My girlfriend needs her waiver to say F1 in addition to B1/B2 or she has to get a new waiver for only the F1 designation, Right now that looks like it could take a year. :(

Context:
applied for a Visa in 2016 for the purpose of being a visitor for vacation. he planned to stay to stay for a couple of weeks and visit. It was approved. He did not disclose that he was using it to cross the border as a truck driver. He was then denied entry and my visa was cancelled.
