RCMP Fingerprints for waivers, processing (wait) times?

Boposted 8 years ago

Hi,

Does anyone have a general idea on RCMP fingerprint check processing times, whether you had one done at the police station or thru a company.

I kind of get the realization depending on the criminal record it could be as fast as a couple of weeks, to a standstill of nearly a year.

A simple guideline would be helpful ... this is my 1st waiver I am applying for and this forum has got some great tips and ideas on how to get it done myself instead of paying like thousands of dollars.

RCMP website says 120 days is the normal standard.

Thanks for the help!!

Replies (recent first):

I have always done it through IFPS a sanctioned fingerprint company and they do it electronically and I usually get them back in about 2 months.

Hi
This is also a first waiver. We went through a electronic fingerprint company and submitted them on December 7, 2015. Still waiting as of today. My brother did it last year and got it in 2.5 months. If you don't have a criminal record it is very fast but if you are getting a waiver you people probably do so this is where the time frame increases a lot. I don't know why some people get it faster than others..sometimes you don't know what is going on at their end.
I will put on this forum the day I get the prints. Good Luck and hopefully you will get faster than me but for sure look at a couple of months. My brother did get them within six weeks couple of years ago. Not sure if anyone knows why it seems longer this year even though the rcmp website says four months.

I had my prints done a couple days ago. The officer said 2-3 weeks. I was surprised to hear that since the website says up to 120 or plus days. Also some people say it's an average of 140 days. I would like to hear what others have to say about the timeline of their print coming back.
