1.) We have been doing and getting waivers since May but only at 2 borders. BC and Buffalo.

2.) My clients in Ontario who are double vaxxed are NOT being asked for a test.

If you call the CBP, they will tell you to get a test, but they are not enforcing it on people who are going to the border for biometrics here in Ontario

Do you need a pre-entry negative covid test when going for bio-metrics to the border if you're double vaxxed? And are they issuing waivers now for non-essential travel (holiday, leisure etc.)?

When and where to get a negative pre-entry test result
If you're flying to Canada, you must take a molecular test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your flight to Canada. Airlines will refuse boarding to travellers who are unable to provide a valid molecular test result.

If you have a connecting flight:
the test must be conducted within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada
you may need to schedule the test in your transit city
If you're driving or entering by water, you must take a molecular test within 72 hours of your planned entry into Canada.

For short trips that are less than 72 hours, Canadian citizens, people registered under the Indian Act, permanent residents and protected persons travelling to the United States are allowed to do their pre-entry molecular test before they leave Canada.

If your test is more than 72 hours old when you re-enter Canada, you’ll be required to get a new pre-entry molecular test in the United States
Before leaving Canada, verify that you meet the entry requirements for your destination country

Regarding this did anyone have to use the arrivecan app before coming back into Canada after biometrics?

Yes I have seen that video, and no surprise to me.

After 9/11, I went from "Smith" being predominate in my database to Indian names like "Singh" (well Sikh names) and I didn't even know people from Pakistan were so into the trucking industry until they all started being stopped after 9/11.

Racism was "ok" then, because the US had been attacked and 3000 mostly "while people" were killed. Unofficial policy of the US? You don't kill white Americans. Invasion of Iraq, invasion of Afghanistan, nothing was off the table because of the rage. The Republicans FINALLY had their "blank cheque" to give arms companies, military contractors and all the organizations that had lobbied the party the taxpayer money they wanted.

Even better for Republicans, they had their "boogyman" back. They lost it after the Cold War. The Republican view was "you can't justify doing bad things" unless you have an enemy that is worse.

Racism was always bad at the border, no surprise that Detroit. the worst border crossing in Ontario, would be rife with racism.

My one message has always been, "even if you LIVE in Windsor, do not hand your waiver in at Detroit."

Yep that would be correct! I am fully vaxed but didn’t have the PCR test on the turnaround after doing my Biometrics. So had to quarantine and do the day 1 and day 8 covid tests. But got my 5 year waiver out of it on July 26/21.

People entering Canada also require a negative PCR within 72 hours of entering. Get that and have a negative when you return and you won’t be quarantined. If your client got quarantined and is fully vaccinated (for 14 days or more) then the negative PCR is the missing piece of the puzzle.
