FOR CLIENTS WHO APPLIED RECENTLY AND GOT A 1 YEAR WAIVER

J Rogersposted 9 months ago

If you have a 1 year waiver, and even if you JUST got it, apply again right at the end of March. Why?

-Your fingerprints should still be valid (15 months from the date on the front page)
-You will probably not get a response for 7-12 months anyways
-Even if you get another 1 year waiver, and lose a couple of months, you still got another year for $515 LESS.
-Even if you don't have court documents, FILE ANYWAYS. You then have 7 months to get the court documents

Consider getting help this time. I read personal letters all the time and quite frankly, they are usually the problem.

It doesn't mean you aren't intelligent. I know WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR, because I read rejection letters all the time. They CLEARLY spell out what they want/what you did wrong when you get a letter denying a waiver.

Call any time for free advice, or even better email.

@Surreygirl Remember, I only have MY clients to go by, which means I KNOW the small details were all taken care of.

But my statistics show basically 75% % years 25% 1 years. There are others I am not including but that is generally the split.

@J Rogers yeah I'm thinking I'll only get a 1 year as it's my first waiver and I have 7 convictions mostly drugs but it was 15 years ago so you never know i guess. With your help from this forum I think I have a very strong application and a very detailed letter but I'm not getting my hopes up for a 5 year. Would you say 1 year and 5 years are the most common?

Yes absolutely. Are you thinking you might only get a 1 year waiver? Obviously you only want to get another application going if its a 1 year. Remember, if you even get a 2 year waiver its probably not worth it to file again simply because your like could be much different then. 2 year waivers are rare.

@J Rogers My waiver will likely be approved right at the end of March so I'm really hoping I can refile again before April's fee increase. If I redo the application on esafe lets say on March 29th and pay the old fee can I then wait 30-40 days to go to the border so I get more use out of my current waiver and lose less months??
