Long time no post! Been too busy working. LOL!

I have a friend with a DUI looking to apply for a waiver but can't find much information on how long he should wait to apply. He has kids so he doesn't want to risk being turned away. No injury to anyone, no jail, just the fine and driving "suspension".

Travels to family vacations, etc. Has proof of attending rehab, etc. His main issue is the conviction is recent.

Any input?

Replies (recent first):

He may not be inadmissible anyways. But if he wants to try anyways, 3 years is what i usually advise.

If he doesn't care about the money, and he applies now, if they do not think he is inadmissible they will just issue him a September Letter.
