Current job (Budtender), will it affect my waiver application

Lotus27posted 2 years ago

I currently work as a budtender and applying for my third waiver application. Will it affect my application? Are they going to question my job? My purpose of going to US is to see my family

@Michelle

@J Rogers Thank you very much for the input. I was basing it on the three general criteria that they use in deciding whether to grant a non-immigrant waiver. 212 d 3 waiver.

@rae24 not as much as you might think. For example, if I overstay, I still don't have a criminal record in Canada, but I am still banned. If you were right on the border of getting the waiver, or not getting it, maybe.

@J Rogers On applying for a waiver and your current job is working in the airport ramp, approved security clearance from transport canada to have a airport pass ID to work. Was it additional points for the waiver applicant?

Thank you

@Lotus27

Congratulations! Glad I was wrong on that one and that they were reasonable.

So, i phoned cpb at sweetgrass and told them about my job and they told me its not a problem and I don’t need to do a drug test. So I drove to Sweetgrass 2 weeks ago to do all the paper work. I just got my waiver approved for 5 years

@Lotus27, It is possible, unfortunately, on the I-192 you have to provide employment info and job title. So, I agree with John for sure, to submit a current drug test.

@Lotus27

I really don't know. If you were a client of mine, I would avoid finding out by getting a letter of employment from somewhere else.

If you ARE going to tell the truth, then submit a drug test for sure.
