Hi all! My brother is applying for his waiver again, we usually drive to the massena port of entry, but i read he can apply online? Is that true? Dont they have to do his fingerprints for the application once hes there? Thats what they normally do.. just wondering which is better TIA

Yes, you need RCMP fingerprints, and although you are not being represented by a lawyer, the eSAFE portal makes everyone do a G-28. I just fill out one but make it clear I am not a lawyer.

TECHNICALLY, only someone using an actual LAWYER (and being represented by them) needs to fill out a g-28. But eSAFE requires it no matter what.

Do you still need to get fingerprinted at the RCMP to get your Canadian criminal record & completed G28 form for e-safe?

Does anyone know if Calgary YYC or Edmonton airports are doing e-SAFE applications ?

Do you suppose many more border crossings will do eSAFE after November 9th or will it just be the very few that were accepting that method pre-pandemic?

All waivers right now are done through eSAFE. You still have to drive to the border. But until November 8 only the Buffalo borders are taking fingerprints. I am not sure what's going to happen after November 8. So yes, he will have to apply online (which is better anyways) but he still will make a trip to the border as well.
