Regular Waivers always need....

- at least 2 reference letters
-Personal Letter
-RCMP Fingerprints (certified) less than 15 months old
-Proof you are Canadian
-Court docs (if arrested in the past)
-Drug test/doctors letter (if drug convictions)
-Proof of employment/income
-Proof of residence.
-Any past waiver (most recent)

This isn't the same list as Homeland Security would give you, because while they want you to APPLY, they could not care less if the application is done well, or even if you are granted the waiver. If a guy just got out of prison for murder, and they went to the border, they would give him the same information they give a guy who shoplifted in 1975. "Apply for this, its easy! You don't need help!"

If you have a PARDON
-Add the pardon and
- a SECOND set of fingerprints under the PRIVACY ACT. (non certified)
-All court documents

If you HAD a record but...

-the record now does not appear, or has been archived of removed due to sequestration, or you cannot explain why it is gone

-You still need fingerprints under the privacy act (even if they show nothing)
-any court documents for any convictions shown.

People who have done a waiver 5 years ago, or have done several waivers are getting letters asking for things they were never asked for before. As the letters say:

Each application for a waiver must be made anew and is separately reviewed

The mistake everyone makes is LISTENING to the idiots that work at the border. You would NEVER get caught for speeding by police, and then take "advice" from them about ANYTHING just because they are being "nice". But when an officer says "just copy what you did 5 years ago" they listen, because it makes it easy.

Now, imagine a guy with 2 or 3 previous waivers just copying everything, never needed court, had a pardon. He thinks "its worked before, lets submit again".

Suddenly, he gets a letter. He now has 87 days to comply or....case closed. No waiver.

-Provide your pardon...all pages
-provide court documents for EVERY arrest
-Get fingerprinted under the privacy act
(if there is anything serious)
-provide court transcripts for your 2001 Robbery

Again, if you DO YOUR WAIVER ON YOUR OWN, do not be LAZY. Rewrite the personal letter and bring your life "up to date".
Remember that if you have a criminal record, they ALSO want the application to reflect your TIES TO CANADA.

Highlighting your TIES TO THE UNITED STATES is not HELPING, its actually a RED FLAG. They grant waivers because you WILL GO BACK TO CANADA, telling them you have a house in Florida, or your mom is sick in Texas, or you have a sister who is having a baby in Ohio are you ADMITTING you have people, places and resources to STAY illegally.

If you consider paying someone to do a waiver, they should
-do ALL the work for you. Especially the personal letter

-Be accredited to fingerprint. The RCMP does do RIGOUROUS checks to accredit people, but any company NOT ACCREDITED is VERY suspicious. Its not only an easy way to make money, but it means you have to "go somewhere else" to get your fingerprints done, which increases time, effort and cost, and worse, you are dealing with 2 companies, not one, and if the prints are the wrong type, or go to the wrong place, it becomes a mess

-Charges a REASONABLE price. I charge $895 CDN which includes taxes. I try to charge what I think is "fair" for the work involved. That doesn't mean its a great price. But I do see places and lawyers that charge thousands, because they figure "the client has no clue".

I had a guy call this week, who needs a waiver (first time) before Christmas. I told him, "we can try but its clear unless something changes, no chance before Christmas. He then calls Pardons Canada. They explain they can for $4000 do an "expedited waiver". He calls me back asking if I do them. I then told him...did you ask "why" they can get it faster for more money?

He called back and the TRUTH is, they never SAID he would get it before Christmas or even FASTER. They will just rush "their work", they "cannot control the rest". He then said "but I told you I needed this for work, and you said I would get it in time". They told him, oh, I was referring to filing a "Port Parole".

So these scammers heard he was desperate, and just figured, "he will pay this" and were going to "rush it" at their end (Pardons Canada is NOTORIOUSLY SLOW) and when it got close to Christmas and he would be panicking, they were simply going to tell him to file a Port Parole. Homeland Security would say not to this for work, and then he paid $4000 for.....a waiver that is too late.

To be fair, like most men, he didn't ask all the questions he SHOULD have, because he just wants SOMEONE to solve his problem. Every week someone comes in to see me (because they heard of me) and when I tell them "you will not get a waiver right now, wait longer" they don't pay me to try, they go to someone else, who then charges more, and get rejected.

Pardons Canada and companies like that RARELY get referrals, and are now hurting because most of their clients never go back, but they have survived on the fraudulent "expedited services" since they started in 1997. And I KNOW when they started because I one day had a phone call from someone names Ian Lavine. He called to do a pardon and a waiver over the phone. Paid in full by credit card. I filled out everything, and sent it to him, and he reversed the charge. By the time I realized, and heard of this "new company" it was too late. I STILL have the file on him (not sure how much is accurate)

He now sold the company to Andrew Tannenbaum who used to work for him and was GREAT at scamming people. Now him and his wife are the SECOND most dishonest pardon and waiver company. Dominion Pardons is by FAR the worst.

The real owner is Richard Breslin. His former criminal associates do waivers through me, so I know he had a long criminal past, and he himself cannot be accredited by the RCMP. Many people want this guy basically dead, which is why his office is heavily locked down, and he still rips people off daily. He was even profiled about fake passport applications, he used his sons name to register the company and scammed people that way.

In case you are wondering, I post about these 2 companies ALL the time and they are aware. But when you are a scammer, its really hard ot do anything when someone who has extensive files and witnesses tells the truth and calls you a scammer.
