I am in Maritimes.....have had 3 waivers....1 year, then 2-5years....I have did them myself....ordering the criminal record check, doing the paperwork and then driving to Calais.....my current ones runs out in May/22.....I have not done anything to this point,.,,,,,I see where they know use esafe documents ....I am not sure if RCMP here are even doing criminal background checks.....and do u still have to go to border....any advice would be appreciated on what and when I need to do things

Replies (recent first):

@travelover22

I have been doing fingerprints all through Covid and so has the RCMP, and a May waiver is EASY to get before that.

Where do you live?

So.....I was only this week able to order my fingerprints through the RCMP.......as they were not doing them with Coved restrictions

Is this when I need to do?

1)wait for pardoned criminal record to come back from RCMP

2) Then do the esafe documents online ...I assume u will get direction on when you can go to border?

3) go to border to do fingerprints etc

4) wait for decision

my waiver runs out on May 8/22...probably wont receive new one before this ..timeline may be to tight

Unfortunately, you do have to still go to a border once everything is filed and paid for. You also must make sure when using eSAFE you know which border in advance.

You must absolutely do fingerprints for the application through the RCMP as well.
