TIMELINES FOR WAIVERS ONLY.

J Rogersposted 10 months ago

Because MANY people log on here to see timelines, not discussions, lets keep THIS thread ONLY for timelines. Then people don;t have to sift through to find out how long they are taking. I was trying to amend the old one but it got deleted, so I saved the last page, and added a bit to it. My apologies if you were looking for old info. The page was getting spammed all the time and had a lot of comments on it.

[ J Rogers appended this reply on September 18, 2025 @ 4:02 pm ]

As for the timeline......when the fees went up the backlog slowed these applications down. That backlog is GONE. They could get every application they have done by Thanksgiving if they want. They do NOT want then done quickly. If this seems like "why would they do that?" then you aren't paying attention. Notice Canada has tariffs for made up reasons, and we have been threatened by Annexation. Notice Russia has not a SINGLE TARIFF. Notice Trump met with Putin in Alaska and got embarrassed. And STILL his "friends" have tariffs and the Russians.....nothing.

@J Rogers 11 months but you never see first application 8-9 or 10 months ?

PGH469 replied 2 months ago   #215

@PGH469 There are 2 lines. Look at all the results I posted.

People in April who are ALL re-applications, about 5-6 months.
People who went to the border in October some reapplications and ALL new applications. 11 Months.

I post the results so you don;t have to think "about 9-12 months". Calculate todays date from "Submitted to ARO"

Here is a waiver that's new from today.

1 year waiver - First application.

J Rogers replied 2 months ago   #214

@6ix They all say 9 to 12 months, he even said 6 to 12 months not so long ago. Except that the reality always seems to be 12 months and more. From there my question is, has at least one person received a first tomorrow in 8 to 10 months for example?

PGH469 replied 2 months ago   #213

@PGH469 I'm a first time applicant, and I submitted on December 24, 2024 and haven't heard from my lawyer yet. She told me 9-12 months

6ix replied 2 months ago   #212

Did someone who submitted their first application in the last year receive it in less than a year? 10 months? 8 months? Does this delay still exist or is it really over?

The instead of saying "ARO decision"

it says "Additional Support Documentation"

But it was the 5 year waiver, he had a 1 year, and a VERY serious record.

@Gabino N

You will either get it VERY soon, or in a few months. But you should not even wait a full 12 months from the date you went to the border. If your
"lawyer" is telling you 12-18 months they simply don't do waivers. So you may be their only recent waiver. Don;t use them again and also you need to get them to constantly CHECK on it every 2-3 weeks. If they have few waivers on the go then they probably don't understand to log in and check it.

J Rogers replied 2 months ago   #204

You guys are giving me hope...

My lawyer is adamant that I will not get a waiver for 12-18 months after biometrics. Previous lawyer I used for this retired in 2023, so I had to find a new one. They have been absolutely terrible and negative. They seem like they just don't want to be bothered. They could at least spend a few minutes answering e-mails for the $2000 I paid them. I had all documents and everything ready to go, they literally did nothing except set up the e-safe account and submit the paperwork I provided.

This would be my third waiver; previously had a 1-year granted in 2019, then a 5-year granted in 2020. All for one minor possession charge in 2014 that was dismissed. It expired at the end of May 2025. My 2020-2025 waiver was approved in less than 6 weeks, and I didn't realize things had changed so much.

4/15/2025 Application Created
4/16/2025 Paid and Signed
4/30/2025 Biometrics done at Rainbow Bridge

Work is all over my ass about not being able to travel to the US. But looking at recent posts in this thread, looks like March applications are being approved now, so hopefully just a few more weeks...I hope this forum is real.

@Rogerslies

Because then the Canadian Government would retaliate by stopping Rehabilitations and TRP's.

I have a friend who works at Homeland Security. I also have DATA. Including knowing how many waivers are pending. Remind us who you are and where you get your information?

Show us your data. Notice when I post something, I don't hide my identity.

J Rogers replied 2 months ago   #198

@J Rogers If what you're saying is true why aren't they denying every single waver or at least denying more than they are approving? Or why are they increasing 1 year waivers (from the Biden administration) to 5 year waivers? Like your waiver you just posted right now. Certainly they have the power and prerogative to deny any waiver they want and by what you just said, they despise Canada? They could deny every single waiver with zero recourse, or certainly would not be increasing waiver times that were approved under more lenient administrations. Why not just eliminate waivers altogether?
