Still waiting…submitted paper docs in Feb 2024

Ellie 2024posted 3 months ago

It’s so hard seeing all these approvals that were just submitted in April! I handed in my paper documents in person to the Pembina ND border crossing Feb 5, 2024. This is my 4th renewal request. My conditional discharge was 30

  • years ago. Had same job now for 20
years. I don’t quite understand their process. The others only took 5 months. Any one have any thoughts or insight?

@Ellie 2024 Congratulations! Was your first application 5 years as well? How long after your conditional discharge did you apply for the waiver? Just trying to get a feel for my first application! Was a conditional discharge 4 years ago

Finally received my 5 year waiver today! It came in the mail as I handed in paper docs at the ND border. The waiver is dated Aug 8, the envelope was mailed Sep 26 and I received today Oct 16.

@Ellie 2024 yes first one

I think they just seem to give only 1 year on the first one. Not sure if anyone got longer in their first application. Are you awaiting for your first? @ The CHI

@Ellie 2024 why do you think you only got a 1 year the first time around?

@Ellie 2024 great thank you- has anyone ever seen a 5 year granted on first application?

@Lk still waiting since October 2023

The Chai Have you received a new one for after June 2024

Lk replied 3 months ago   #6

@The CHI
Last one expired June 2024. I try to renew them 4-5 months before they expire so I would have applied for the last one in 2019. Took about 5 months then

@The CHI
Have you received a waiver recently? If so how long did it take you?

Lk replied 3 months ago   #4

@The CHI. It only took about 6 months and I got a 1 year the first time. The others have been 5 years

@Ellie 2024 What was your outcome the first time you applied?

The CHI replied 3 months ago   #2

Ellie2024, I feel your pain I have not been as long as you but I’m waiting for my fourth as well. The others took only 4 months also. I’m in your situation also.
