During the Trump years, they were not granting waivers for sexually based offences. That INCLUDED people who had a waiver before. This was clearly a policy. I have never seen ANY evidence that waivers for that type of offence were granted after 2016, just hearsay.

I finally had a client who filed and it was granted. He got a one year waiver. It was very fast, less than 30 days.
Now, he also maintained his innocence, and he had a lot of documentation to back this up. In his case, it was a 16 year old girl, (unwanted touching) but her father and sister both were willing to write letters saying that they did not think she was being truthful. His conviction was 1995 so very old as well.

For anyone uncomfortable with this type of offence, remember, there are a LOT of people who were convicted because they were gay, having consensual sex. Dumb men who grabbed an ass in a bar when they were 19, people accused who never did it, and people who made bad decisions when they were very young. Someone who is basically RAPING people is probably not going to get a waiver.

This is in NO WAY me siding with perpetrators over victims. I cannot imagine the trauma that accompanies sexual assault, and I know these victims rarely find true justice.
