He is a Canadian Citizen. He was trying to get on a airplane in New York to come home from Canada.
He had a minor gun charge, so when he applied for a waiver, they gave him a September letter. (that means they did not find him inadmissible) This means as long as he shows the letter, he can travel LEGALLY.
So he did. He had a nice visit. Now he is trying to LEAVE.
They grabbed him and he called me. They accused him of having a fake letter. Then they said "we better not find anything in your phone!"
I talked to them calmly and politely, because I am here in Canada, and my poor client is stuck in that airport.
I asked the officer if "The made a mistake in Virginia? "(Homeland Security adjudicates on Waiver in Sterling Virginia. He said he couldn't care less and was HOPING to deport my client.
This arrogant asshole was LOOKING to deport a Canadian that was there LEGALLY, and TRYING TO LEAVE.
Last week, Homeland Security set up a checkpoint a short distance BEFORE the Canadian border. They were checking people LEAVING to Canada.
Canadians said they wanted to go through phones, asking "what did you do here in the US". This was in Washington state right near the Peace Arch.
As of today, Tuesday May 13th at 234pm EST I have no heard from the client. I have fired off a call, a text, and an email today.
Maybe he forgot to contact me. I will keep trying and update everyone.
In the meantime, I have contacted a newspaper and they are interested in writing a story....if we can verify.
Different incident. This client got her waiver 2 weeks ago. She was going to a graduation for a relative in the US. First waiver.
She was "suspected of prostitution" in Canada, but no record, no arrests. Mostly her appearance. (she is young and attractive)
She got a 1 year waiver. Went to Pearson Intl Airport. They did the secondary, then asked her to provide bank statements. She had no bank apps on her phone.
She ran home to do it, and print them out (she has a later flight now) but is a bit scared.
Waiver granted, and by the Trump Homeland Security. And still this.
Still haven't heard from the other client, but this could be the client forget to contact me.
I cannot imagine what is going on if 2 of my clients have problems in 2 consecutive days.
