For people in Ontario, or willing to drive to Ontario, this does not matter. They are taking waivers at the border and have been doing so since May 2021.

There are 38 locations - that is a huge increase from the 3 or 4 pre-COVID.

Essential only now. But if the land border ever opens….
I went yesterday to Rainbow bridge for I-192 bio-metric fingerprints, the process was smooth, the CBP officer game me a flagpoling note. I have my PCR and Arrivecan filled (fully vaccinated), when I came back to Canada border the Canadian border patrol officer said since I went for bio-metric fingerprints, I don’t need to show PCR. And said yes, technically I need to have PCR, its depend on the officer.
I still not get any update on my e-safe application after bio-metric fingerprints…
It’s the same as any entry into Canada. You need to be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days, you need a negative PCR test (no kore than 72 hours old) and you need to register your entry in ArriveCAN. Also - you need to have a quarantine plan “just in case”.
I was going Tuesday to do my fingerprints and didn’t get the test results on time so I went Wednesday. With all the requirements it’s simple and fast to return to Canada.
USA was glad to have something to keep them busy, but we also learned that the officer who initially refused me entry didn’t complete the process in the system so instead of 30 minutes o was there for 2 hours getting everything completed.
Update for Waiver delivery for non-essential. My client did not attend the border crossing to deliver his paperwork. He decided to check with Canada Customs before making the trip and he was advised the following: Because he would be leaving his vehicle to provide bio-metric fingerprints, he would be required to quarantine for 2 weeks upon arrival back in Canada. He is not vaccinated, so this may have been the problem also. He also advised that he was told that all persons arriving in Canada must have this download this appt (arrivecan) and have it completed and ready to show Customs. Anyone that has experience with this - please share with us. Thanks!
@John, any of your clients advise this?

Hi All,
Update for Saskatchewan area: There is (1) one small border crossing that is accepting Waiver paperwork for non-essential people. Starting today. They do not accept E-safe. I am not posting the Border crossing location as they do not want a rush of people, as 2 Custom Officers only are stationed there. If you are interested, please call me or email me at info@fingerprintpardon.com
I am sending a client there today or tomorrow, to see how it goes, I prefer E-safe now, as I can track progress, this old way paperwork delivery, is impossible to track, as no one from Customs is answering the traditional email tracking.
But as always, client has choice of what they want.
Will keep everyone posted.
