Do i need a waiver?!

Mitchposted 6 months ago

Hello all,

Hope all is well,
I'm canadian and back in 2017 i was jailed for possession of a controlled drug in florida. However, i completed a pre trial intervention and the case got dismissed "nolle prosequi" they called it.

Last time i tried crossing the border, when they asked me if i had anything to declare, i mentioned the incident and it was to their surprise as they didnt find it in their system. They asked me to sign a paper that said i wanted to cancel my demand to enter the u, they took my prints and picture and sent me back.

Do i need to apply for a waiver to cross the border or these border agents just didnt knwo what to do?

2 options.

1. go to the border, tell them you aren't trying to cross, and want to ask if you need a waiver.
-If they say you do NOT, ask for a card, or SOMETHING in writing. If they refuse, then do NOT believe them.

2. Do a waiver. If you do NOT need a waiver, you will get a September letter which never expires. If you do, then you will get a waiver
